Webinar Recording: MHPSS and Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Humanitarian Action (English)
The recording of the MHPSS.net hosted webinar on “MHPSS and Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Humanitarian Action” is now available to members.
This webinar, organized by MHPSS.net, in partnership with the IASC MHPSS Reference Group, provided a platform to learn and share experiences with two field experts, Julian Eaton and Salam Gómez.
Julian Eaton explored how the IASC guidelines can strengthen accountability to persons with disabilities in situations of risk and humanitarian emergencies, and offer key actions and considerations for inclusion of persons with disabilities in humanitarian action, with a focus on the MHPSS sector in general, and more specifically persons with mental health problems. Salam Gómez discussed the concept of psychosocial disability, and present key principles and field experiences relevant to the full and effective participation and inclusion of persons with disability within the field of MHPSS and wider humanitarian action.
