[Turkish Version] Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (Version 2012)

Children often make up more than 50% of the population affected by conflicts or disasters around the world. In humanitarian settings, children are also vulnerable to being killed or injured, orphaned, separated from their families, recruited into armed groups, or trafficked. In order to address the urgent need to provide improved protection to such children, the Child Protection Working Group (CPWG) launched the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action in Geneva on October 29, 2012. Save the Children contributed significantly as a lead organisation to the production of the inter-agency standards, often referred to as the CPMS, which was carried out by 22 CPWG member-organisations and agencies. These minimum standards – drafted with inputs from 400 individuals from 30 agencies in over 40 countries – are aimed at those working in child protection or related areas of humanitarian action.
