Syrian Workers Research Study: Work, Education, Skills, and Entrepreneurship

Bareeq Education & Development Organization set out to understand the status of these Syrian
professionals in the locations they now find themselves in, and their view on challenges they may
have.
The aim of the study was to understand the respondents’ work experiences before and after 2011,
and to understand the differences between those who remained in Syria, including those who were
internally displaced and those who remained in the same location, versus those who migrated, the
countries they migrated to, the type of work and income they obtained, and their financial load as
far as dependents are concerned.
