Psychosocial care for women in shelter homes
This comprehensive manual highlights the issues of a neglected segment of vulnerable among the vulnerable – ‘women in shelter homes’. Very little efforts have been made earlier to understand the problems and concerns of these women. It’s crucial to note that the issues of the staff who work in shelter homes were never addressed too. It has been observed that the understanding of psychosocial care has been very limited in these shelter homes. These lacunae led to the inadequate care and support and at times injustice to the residents who have been victims of difficult circumstances.
This manual aims to address these lacunae, enables the care givers of the shelter homes to understand the needs of the women and gives them an insight into the spectrum of psychosocial interventions.
