Protecting Children from Poverty, Disaster and Climate Risks

This report identifies four steps for governments and development partners to strengthen the linkages between social protection, disaster risk management and climate change adaptation. These four steps are the following: (1) Identify households that are most at risk of disaster and climate change impacts, (2) Assess the sensitivity of current social protection programmes to disaster and climate risks; (3) Adapt existing and develop new social protection programmes and systems that integrate disaster and climate risks; (4) Improve the coordination of institutions, strategies and programmes.
