NDRMMC Memorandum No. 62, series 2017 National Guidelines on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergencies and Disaster Situations (Philippines)

With the vulnerability of the Philippines to disasters brought about by natural and human induced hazards, the need for response on the mental health of people and their psychosocial well being was evident. The Department of Health, as the lead for WASH, Health, Nutrition and Psychosocial Services Cluster, recognized the needs for the improvement of the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Guidelines on MHPSS. In this regard, DOH led the formulation of the draft MHPSS National Guidelines which will enable humanitarian actors and communities to implement essential minimum high priority response in emergencies and disasters that adapt and contextualize the IASC Guidelines.
