Missed Again: Making Space for Partnerships in the Typhoon Haiyan response
This report highlights some of the challenges identified in the research related to partnership working in the Philippines during the humanitarian response to the destruction caused by Typhoon Haiyan.
The study analyzed the typhoon response to identify examples of where international NGOs (INGOs) working with local and national NGOs (collectively termed NNGOs) have improved the effectiveness of the humanitarian response, and where challenges arose, and looks more broadly at partnership between local and national actors and members of the international humanitarian system. The study was undertaken by one national and one international researcher.
