About me | Respected MHPSS Colleagues,
Greetings and I hope my letter finds you well.
I am a competent, significantly trained medical doctor and a certified public health professional with various fields of education and experience. I worked in clinical fields with many International NGOs like the International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC), International Medical Corps (IMC), Medecins sans Frontiers (MSF) in the fields of ER, outreach medicine, reproductive health, primary health care, and NCDs. My master thesis research studied the relationship between spirituality and Post Traumatic Stress among Syrian adolescents in northern Jordan. ADDIN EN.CITE I worked as an epidemiologist with the WHO Jordan country office for 18 months before traveling to Ireland to commence my research with Trinity College Dublin about the use of art therapy in alleviating trauma symptoms attributed to refuge and war. In terms of COVID-19, I published two articles ADDIN EN.CITE ADDIN EN.CITE.DATA Following my interest in women’s health, I am voluntarily leading two gross survey research with the Al-Farouq Society health center in Irbid camp for Palestinians in Jordan. The first line survey investigates the KAP of pregnant women regarding their pregnancy and family planning, and newborn care, in the camp. The second research encompasses domestic violence against women and children including sexual abuse. I am a professional person, an evidence-based decision-maker with impactful leadership. Productive, positive psycho-social bonding with colleagues and beneficiaries is one of my unique characteristics. I earned and developed my effective communication, technical and academic writing, and presentation skills through my studying and experience. During my experience, I partook in high-level meetings with multiple agencies, stakeholders, and donors. In the meantime, I am a Ph.D. student at Trinity College Dublin and I am studying the use of creative art therapy in relieving war and refuge mental health consequences among refugees and displaced populations. I would be looking forward to having an opportunity to work under the umbrella of your network, taking advantage of the mutual interest and work area. Sincerely yours. Mohannad.
