About me | Dean Ajdukovic, Ph.D., is a professor of psychology at the Department of Psychology and Head of the Chair of Social Psychology, University of Zagreb, Croatia, where he served as Department chairperson and director of Postgraduate Psychology Program. He has extensive experience in working with refugees, victims of organized violence, post-conflict social reconstruction of communities, community-based mental health interventions, program evaluation and family violence. He directed several major international research and intervention projects. He has published over 110 papers in journals and books in Croatian, English, Macedonian, Russian and Albanian and lectured in a number of centers of excellence in US and Europe. He serves as a reviewer for a number of international professional journals, consultant and trainer on trauma and violence, psychosocial program development and evaluation, community crisis interventions. He has worked in countries affected by upheaval such as Albania, Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Ingushetia, Kosovo. He is president of the Society for Psychological Assistance (SPA), a regional mental health non-governmental organization based in Zagreb, Croatia; past member of the Council of the International Society for Health and Human Rights (ISHHR, 1998-2011), past president (2003-2005) and Board member (1997-2007) of the European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ESTSS), current president of the Croatian Society for Traumatic Stress. |
