BROWN BAG LUNCH SERIES introducing LOCAL COMMUNITY-BASED MHPSS INITIATIVES

BROWN BAG LUNCH SERIES introducing LOCAL COMMUNITY-BASED MHPSS INITIATIVES

The Thematic Working Group on Community-based MHPSS of the Inter-Agency Standing Committee
(IASC) Reference Group on MHPSS in Emergency Settings kindly invites you to the BROWN BAG LUNCH SERIES introducing LOCAL COMMUNITY-BASED MHPSS INITIATIVES

While MHPSS approaches and tools are often developed at a global level and promoted through international expert networks, grass-roots initiatives and local approaches often receive less attention. However, they can provide creative and innovative responses to people’s mental health and psychosocial needs.

In this brown bag lunch series, four organizations from across the globe will present and discuss their local community-based MHPSS initiatives. The speakers will introduce their work and share their experience in developing these approaches, highlighting how affected communities and local actors can be actively involved in decision-making and implementation. In each 45-minute session, participants are invited to reflect on what we can learn from the examples, and how these can be promoted in and adapted to other contexts.

Please register here and join them!
